Weblogic 14c Installers and Types of installation

 Types of Weblogic Installers:

Generic Installer:

The generic installer includes all Oracle WebLogic Server and Oracle Coherence software, including examples, and is supported for all development and production purposes.

The Generic Installer Name is fmw_14.1.1.0.0_wls_lite_generic.jar

Quick Installer:

The quick installer is intended for development purposes. It includes all Oracle WebLogic Server and Oracle Coherence runtime software, but excludes examples and localized WebLogic console help files.

The Quick Installer Name is fmw_14.1.1.0.0_wls_lite_quick_generic.jar

Slim Installer/Slim Quick Installer:

The slim installer is for development and production usage of Docker or CRI-O images and containers in Kubernetes, when WebLogic console monitoring and configuration is not required. It includes all Oracle WebLogic Server and Oracle Coherence server runtime software, but excludes examples, the WebLogic console, WebLogic clients, Maven plug-ins and Java DB

The Slim Quick Installer Name is fmw_14.1.1.0.0_wls_lite_quick_slim_generic.jar

Types of installations:

There are 3 types of installations
1. GUI mode
2. Console mode
3. Silent mode

Note: You must have a certified JDK already installed on your system - For Weblogic 14c either jdk 1.8 or jdk 11
